Yamadera Yakushi (Healing Buddha)
The three statues of Yakushi (Shaka-nyorai, Yakushi-nyorai, Amida-nyorai) with the average height of 142 cms. have been enshrined inside the Yakushi-do.
It was thought that the wooden Buddhas were carried from Kyoto and assembled in this area.
There is no other Buddha with inscription written in India ink in it's interior, designated as a Prefecture Cultural Asset in December of 1978.
In the surrounding area there is also the Enmei Shimizu (life-prolonging spring water) and Fujinhora (the god of the wind's cave).
Every year, on the 8th of May, a large number of visitors come to celebrate the Yamadera Yakushi Rei Taisai (festival) in the compound.
