At Kasugayama Castle Historic Site Plaza you can experience Kasugayama Castle as it was in medieval times by viewing its restored foundations, moats, Horitate pillar buildings etc. These have all been authenticated by survey. Rabbitear Iris planted in the moat is at its best in the beginning of May.
At the Kasugayama Castle Ruins Story Musuem, you can watch a large screen video that introduces Kenshin Uesugi and the state of Kasugayama Castle during its heyday in the Edo period. Other items, sush as the Kawanakajima battle depicted on a folding screen etc are exhibited.
The stamp of the "Japan One Hundred National Castle Stamp Rally" is available at Kasugayama Castle Ruins Museum. On holidays and during the winter the stamp is available at the entrance of the Joetsu City Buried Cultural Property Center.
