Kobo Natural Spring Water Park

Kobo was a famous, high ranking Buddhist priest who traveled around Japan. Legend has it that he had the power to summon spring water by tapping his walking stick on the ground. Kobo Natural Spring Water Park is one of the places he visited on his travels. The water here has been selected as one of the 100 best spring waters in Niigata Prefecture. Even during a very hot, dry summer the spring does not dry up and the water is cool and refreshing. In winter, the water is warmer than the outside air so it feels warm to drink. ※ Snow is not removed from the area in winter so it is difficult to access. Also, in the winter the public washroom in the park is closed.
